Trustco Properties donates chairs to school in Omusati
Trustco Properties has donated nearly 80 chairs to Onampira Combined School, located in the Omusati Region in northern Namibia.
The chairs were officially handed over by Ms Petrina Ashipala, the Office Manager of Trustco’s Ongwediva branch, on Thursday last week. Speaking at the handover ceremony, Ms Ashipala reiterated the commitment of the company to education in Namibia: “We remain dedicated to supporting education by providing resources to enhance learning in Namibia. We hope this donation will provide the valuable support Onampira CS needs to improve their performance.”
Receiving the donation, the school’s principal, Mr Richard Kalola, thanked Trustco Properties and noted that the donation came at the right time, as the school was in dire need of chairs, particularly for its library and computer lab. “This donation has eased the burden,” said Kalola.
Speaking on behalf of the parents, school board chair Mr Shikalepo Andjamba expressed profound appreciation, saying that the donation was a clear demonstration that education is not only the responsibility of the government, but that the involvement of all stakeholders is essential.
Onampira CS, located along the C46 main road about 15 kilometres from Oshakati, has a staff complement of 29 teachers and 502 learners enrolled from pre-primary to Grade 11.
